About the Role
University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated Domestic Assistants to join the Facilities Department at Worthing Hospital. This role is crucial for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across clinical wards and departments, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position involves adhering to national cleaning standards and trust policies, contributing to the trust's commitment to providing excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in clinical wards and departments according to national cleaning standards (National Cleaning Standards 2021).
- Ensure all allocated cleaning areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and Trust policies.
- Work collaboratively as a flexible team member within the Facilities Department.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information regarding patients, staff, and hospital business.
- Assist hospital staff, visitors, and patients by following established Trust policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and directions to visitors in a helpful and friendly manner.
- Handle sensitive communications with tact and diplomacy, particularly when interacting with families of deceased individuals.
- Participate actively in departmental IT initiatives.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively, using tact and diplomacy, especially in sensitive situations.
- Willingness to adhere to strict health and safety protocols and cleaning standards.
- Ability to work flexibly within a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient and staff confidentiality.
