About the Role
Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is seeking a motivated Marine District Sales Manager to join their Marine team in a field-based role covering the Eastern region of Florida. This intermediate-level position is responsible for guiding the business direction and growth of an assigned territory. You will develop sales strategies, forecasts, and manpower plans, offering guidance to junior sales team members.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement independent strategies to promote and sell Yamaha products and services within your designated territory.
- Support Yamaha dealers in achieving their business objectives, monitor order status and shipments, and manage credit holds and dealer credit lines.
- Actively seek out new leads and cultivate strong relationships with existing and prospective dealers to drive monthly business growth through regular customer visits.
- Accurately forecast future outboard product requirements for dealer accounts by analyzing collected data, market trends, and historical sales performance.
- Establish and achieve territory-specific targets and goals, leveraging proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and product knowledge to help dealers expand their market share.
- Meet corporate and territory objectives within established budget constraints, managing expenses independently according to guidelines.
- Conduct foundational sales training for dealer principals, sales staff, and other personnel as needed, and potentially lead Yamaha's Sales and Service Seminars.
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, including the Yamaha Boat Company and other approved boat manufacturers, recommending boat lines that support market share expansion for both dealers and Yamaha.
- Maintain precise records and files for all dealer information as mandated by the Regional Manager and Corporate Policy Guidelines.
- Fulfill all administrative duties within the timeframe specified by the Regional Manager.
- Track all dealer sales programs specific to your territory and report market conditions, including customer feedback and competitor activities, to sales management.
- Assist in overseeing and managing the disposition of damaged outboard inventory located in Unit Warehouses.
- Guide dealers on promotional and marketing opportunities by assessing customer needs and recommending suitable products and services.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification is required.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior sales experience is necessary; experience in managing a sales territory or a sales team is advantageous.
- Must be willing and able to travel to various accounts, industry events, and dealer functions.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, and sales software, is essential.
