Role overview
Specsavers Tralee is looking for a Dispensing Optician to join its customer-focused team in Tralee, County Kerry. The clinic is committed to delivering an excellent patient journey and serving a loyal local community with high standards of care.
This position suits someone who wants to contribute on the shop floor, work closely with the wider store team, and take on responsibilities that support both customer service and store operations. There are also opportunities for ongoing professional growth through leadership and development pathways.
Location and working pattern
The role is based in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland. The working pattern can be full time or part time.
Compensation and benefits
The salary can be up to €45,000, depending on experience. The employer also offers strong clinical and professional development opportunities, as well as access to advanced clinical technology such as OCT.
Key duties
The Dispensing Optician will be expected to deliver excellent customer care, coordinate smoothly with optometrists, and support a consistent handover for every customer. The role also involves handling aftersales matters, including complaints and issue resolution, in a positive and service-oriented way.
In addition, the postholder will help contribute to individual and team sales performance by using effective, professional sales methods.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will be a qualified Dispensing Optician registered with CORU and will already have prior experience working in an opticians. They should be confident in clinical judgement, comfortable with a practical hands-on approach, and able to build strong relationships with both customers and colleagues.
Applicants should also be eager to grow, develop, and take on more responsibility, including management-related duties. Support is available through ILM courses, pre-registration supervision, and the Specsavers Partnership Pathway for those interested in future leadership or store director progression.
