Role Overview
Chipotle is seeking a Director of Brand Activation to lead regional and local marketing efforts from Newport Beach, CA. Reporting to the Vice President of Brand Marketing, this leader will guide a field team of 8, including Brand Activation Managers and Community Fundraising staff, while helping shape how the brand shows up in local markets, supports restaurant growth, and advances its broader mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all regional and local marketing programs, including new restaurant launch campaigns, neighborhood catering promotion, and community-based marketing initiatives.
- Create and execute regional and local marketing plans that align with the national marketing calendar and overall brand direction, while also taking advantage of market-specific opportunities.
- Partner with field teams to strengthen sales performance and influence how customers perceive the brand at the local level.
- Oversee local catering marketing activity to help expand sales in this channel.
- Lead community marketing initiatives, including the company’s fundraising program, which has generated more than $100 million, along with other charitable efforts tied to the organization’s mission.
- Support recruitment-focused marketing efforts to strengthen the employer brand and help meet staffing goals.
- Manage a team that includes 5 Brand Activation Managers as well as 3 Community Fundraising Managers and Coordinators.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
- An MBA or master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in cross-channel local, regional, or field marketing is required; experience in restaurants or retail is preferred.
- Supervisory experience of 5 to 8 years is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience leading integrated local and regional brand marketing, cross-channel advertising, and fundraising programs.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $222,000 annually. In addition to base pay, the role is eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards, depending on performance and other factors. The total rewards package also includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, sick leave, vacation time, and additional benefits.
