Sevita is looking for a caring Direct Support Professional to help individuals build independence, reach personal goals, and take part in everyday community life. In this role, you will form strong relationships with the people you support and work with a team that trusts you to make thoughtful, participant-focused decisions.

What the role involves

  • Support people in meaningful daily activities that encourage growth, learning, and overall wellbeing.
  • Build genuine, respectful relationships with participants.
  • Use your judgment and initiative to help each person stay connected to their community and enjoy preferred activities.
  • Assist participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
  • Provide personal hygiene support and help individuals who may experience behavioral challenges or more complex support needs.

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
  • At least 6 months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination is preferred.
  • Strong communication, adaptability, multitasking, teamwork, and time management skills.
  • Patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible work style.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.

This position is based in Kokomo, Indiana and is a full-time, onsite role.
