About the Role

Malaberg is a fast-growing company creating premium health, nutrition, and skincare brands entirely in-house as it expands across the UK and US. The business is looking for a Direct Mail Manager to take charge of a promising channel within the Retention team. This is a practical, commercially minded role for someone who enjoys execution, coordination, and performance improvement. You will work closely with in-house copy, creative, and media buying specialists to identify the right audiences, manage physical mail sends, measure ROAS, and build repeatable processes. The company has already seen profitable early testing, and this role begins right away on new brands, with a primary emphasis on US acquisition while also supporting the UK and US markets.

What You Will Do

  • Design and execute direct mail campaigns for lapsed customers, current customers, subscribers, VIPs, cross-sell groups, and selected cold-audience experiments.
  • Create or guide audience lists in Klaviyo and Shopify, ensuring suppression rules, address checks, and data accuracy are handled carefully.
  • Manage print and mailing-house coordination, including specifications, proof review, production schedules, mail-drop timing, in-home delivery windows, and problem-solving when issues arise.
  • Give copy and creative teams a clear commercial brief for every send, covering the target audience, offer, format, response method, and the metric used to judge success.
  • Track and present send-level ROAS, costs, results, learnings, and the next action, whether that means scaling, repeating, revising, or stopping.
  • Convert early successful sends into a consistent weekly or fortnightly direct mail operating cadence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven hands-on experience running direct mail campaigns is mandatory.
  • Strong commercial thinking, with the ability to discuss ROAS, pack cost, response rate, contribution, and the decision to expand or discontinue a send.
  • Solid operational control, including comfort handling vendors, proofs, deadlines, files, and multiple moving parts with attention to detail.
  • Confidence working with data and audience planning, plus willingness to get involved directly with Klaviyo, Shopify, and customer-data workflows.
  • A forward-looking mindset and openness to tools and process improvement rather than avoiding technology.
  • Sound creative judgement, with the ability to generate strong ideas and brief copywriters and designers effectively.

Bonus Experience

  • Previous direct mail work across both the UK and US.
  • Experience sourcing cold audiences or buying lists.
  • Background in DTC, subscriptions, beauty, supplements, skincare, catalogues, charity fundraising, or direct-response agencies.
  • Exposure to parcel inserts or package inserts.
