Job description
Role Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is hiring a Diagnostic Imaging Clerk for the Diagnostic Imaging unit at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager of Operations, this in-person role supports the day-to-day flow of imaging services while reflecting the mission, values, and management philosophy of the hospital.
What You Will Do
In this position, you will manage requisitions and book diagnostic imaging appointments through the Radiology Information System. You will also serve as the front-desk contact for patients, handle patient and film records, register patients in the system, and keep information current.
Your duties will also include locating, filing, and retrieving diagnostic imaging films, digital images, and CDs/DVDs; providing images to physicians when requested; sending images and/or reports to other facilities; and completing other duties as assigned.
Schedule and Work Details
This is a unionized CUPE role with an FTE of 0.80. The anticipated shift is days, with 7.75 hours worked per day and 2,015 annual base hours. The work arrangement is in person, and the anticipated start is as soon as possible.

Pay Information
The hourly wage range for this position is $22.117 to $25.564, with the following progression points: $22.117, $22.766, $23.435, $24.122, $24.834, and $25.564.
Education and Experience
You should have Grade 12 or an accepted equivalent. Candidates will meet the education requirement if they have completed one of the following: a recognized Medical Administrative Assistant program, a recognized medical secretary program, or the first year of a recognized nursing diploma/degree.
Alternatively, applicants may qualify with a recognized medical terminology course plus one year of experience in Patient Registration or one year of related experience. Related experience includes work as a ward clerk, unit assistant, secretary, or receptionist in a clinical setting.
Required Skills and Attributes
The role calls for a typing speed of 35 words per minute, strong English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, and the ability to work accurately and independently. You should be comfortable interacting with others, communicating clearly by phone and in person, handling confidential information, and adapting to stressful situations.
Physical capability to assist patients in wheelchairs is also required. Previous PACS experience is considered an asset.
Conditions of Employment
To be hired, you must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, a Child Abuse Registry Check, and an Adult Abuse Registry Check. These checks must be current, meaning they were completed within six months before the employment start date. Any related service charges are the responsibility of the successful candidate.
Employees cannot hold two or more Shared Health positions that together exceed 1.0 FTE.
