About the role

Jacobs is looking for an Architecture Designer to contribute to advanced facility projects that support critical sectors and shape more connected, sustainable environments. The role sits within a collaborative design setting where ideas are developed into practical BIM-based solutions and documentation.

Key responsibilities

You will work from guidance provided by the Process Architect or Lead Architect and turn concepts, verbal directions, hand sketches, and digital inputs into design alternatives, BIM models, and drawing sets. The work includes supporting model development, visual output, coordination, and architectural documentation for advanced facilities.

Project exposure

The position involves work related to pharmaceutical, FMCG, and microelectronics facilities, along with associated research and development spaces. This includes an understanding of production areas, laboratories, utility buildings, OSATs, FABs, and related support zones.

Technical and regulatory context

A strong grasp of GMP-related needs is important, including area and hazardous classifications, equipment layouts, move-in planning, and construction sequencing, with direction from the Process Architect where needed. You should also understand local planning rules, statutory requirements, and safety-in-design principles.

BIM and visualization work

The job requires comfort with Level of Detail (LOD) progression across project phases, along with the ability to produce architectural visualizations such as renders, walkthroughs, and 3D printed models using advanced tools and plugins. You will also take part in model review and clash-resolution discussions and may lead meetings in the early stages before all disciplines are fully involved.

Software and documentation

Strong capability in Revit and AutoCAD is essential, along with advanced 3D modeling, parametric family creation, building models from the ground up, creating templates for drawings and documentation, and preparing BIM models for architectural quantity take-offs. You should also be able to extract drawings from Revit models in line with project requirements.

What you need

The role requires full-time Diploma in Architecture or a Bachelor of Architecture (5 years / 10 semesters) from a COA-recognized institution in India. The expected experience level is 6+ years in advanced facilities design.
