Its work spans transportation solutions and defense capabilities, supported by teams across multiple regions. The company’s business portfolio includes Cubic Transportation Systems and Cubic Defense.

Role Overview

This position is responsible for directing the operational delivery of assigned APAC programs and functions. The role turns approved business and corporate strategies into practical regional execution plans, with accountability for performance, delivery, budget control, and customer outcomes. It operates with a high level of independence within established policies and delegated authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior leaders to shape operational and business plans, then convert approved strategies into actionable execution across the APAC region.
  • Own operational and program results, including cost, timelines, staffing, and resource use, while staying within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate cross-functional work across operations, engineering, program management, contracts, HR, and customer support to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide leadership and direction to subordinate managers, helping strengthen leadership capability and alignment to business priorities.
  • Track financial performance, review variances, and implement corrective actions to meet financial targets and controls.
  • Support growth and capture efforts by contributing operational insight, execution planning, and customer-facing support.
  • Maintain regular contact with key customers to support contract delivery, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual commitments, and relevant regulatory requirements across the region.
  • Spot operational risks, escalate issues that fall outside approved plans, and apply mitigation measures within delegated authority.
  • Represent the organization with customers and industry stakeholders in support of operational goals, working with senior leadership where needed.
  • Manage multi-department operating budgets and remain accountable for achieving agreed financial outcomes.
  • Use sound judgment within policy limits, with decisions affecting functional or multi-department performance.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field, along with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Ability to read, assess, and interpret complex operational, financial, and contractual materials.
  • Strong presentation skills for group settings.
  • Background in managing multiple functions within one organization.
  • Familiarity with financial tools used to manage organizational performance.
  • Strong strategic planning ability with a track record of turning strategy into long-term functional and regional execution plans.
  • Capability to handle difficult problems while staying composed under pressure.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills and a respectful, collaborative approach to retaining customers.
  • Experience managing operating budgets and financial performance against approved plans and targets.
  • Credibility as a trusted leader among corporate teams, peers, subordinates, and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others with openness to ideas from all sources.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills, with an ability to guide operations within policy and delegated authority.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in the operational area.
  • Ability to build morale and align teams around goals and shared outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business and technical awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Cultural awareness.
  • English and local language skills are ideal.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical capability.
  • Self-driven and creative.
  • Availability to travel as needed.
  • Successful completion of a National Police Check and reference checks is required.
