Job description
Role overview
Ocado Logistics is looking for a customer-focused delivery driver to work from Milton Keynes, helping bring groceries and other goods to customers on time and with care. The role is centred on delivering a reliable service, creating a positive customer experience, and representing the company on the road in all kinds of weather.
This position uses route-planning technology and pre-loaded vans to make deliveries more efficient. The work is varied and includes weekday, evening, and weekend shifts. All breaks are paid, so every minute at work counts toward your earnings.
Pay and working pattern
The role is paid on a lunar cycle, meaning pay is issued every 4 weeks in line with a monthly schedule. The base hourly rate for Monday to Saturday is £13.22. Additional premiums apply for later shifts and Sundays, which can lift average hourly earnings to £13.82 per hour. Enhanced overtime is also available.
- Evening premium from 6pm: £1.12 per hour
- Sunday day premium: £1.32 per hour
- Sunday evening premium: £2.55 per hour
- Overtime Monday to Saturday, day shift: £16.53 per hour
- Overtime Monday to Saturday, evening shift: £17.65 per hour
The contract is permanent and includes 40 paid hours per week. You will work 5 days out of 7, in 8-hour shifts. Start times can be as early as 05:30 and finish times may be as late as 00:00. Shift rotas are shared up to 13 weeks in advance.
What the role involves
You will spend your working day on the road delivering goods efficiently, while keeping service quality high and interacting well with customers. The company also emphasizes a safe working environment and a supportive team culture.
What you need
No prior delivery experience is required, as full training will be provided. However, applicants must meet the driving and legal requirements for the role.
Additional information
Some deliveries may include alcohol products, so applicants must be at least 18 years old. This is a customer-facing position, so strong communication skills are important. The recruitment process includes an online application, licence and right-to-work checks, a site visit with a question-and-answer session, a relaxed interview conversation, and a DBS check before an offer is made.
Benefits and extras
The role includes a range of benefits designed to support wellbeing, savings, and long-term progression.
- Company pension with up to 7% matched contributions after 3 months
- Digital health and wellbeing support, including virtual GP access for you and your dependents
- Discounts across high street shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues
- Life insurance from day one
- 15% off weekly shopping with Ocado.com
- Optional discounted extras such as dental and travel insurance
