Deli Bakery Team Associate

Role overview

As a Deli Bakery Associate, you will deliver friendly, dependable customer service while living Walmart’s core values. The role focuses on keeping the Bakery and/or Deli areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for customers, while supporting sales and food preparation activities.

Key duties

• Keep the department organized by zoning shelves, tables, and bunkers so products are in the right place and easy to shop.
• Check inventory regularly, rotate stock, and remove items that are past their expiry date.
• Make sure products are correctly labeled, signed, and priced.
• Follow cold-chain rules, thermometer calibration requirements, temperature logging, food safety practices, product rotation rules, and sell-by/expiry date standards.
• Handle deli orders, prepare hot food items, and support customers with their requests.
• Prepare deli foods using the proper tools, cook chicken in a rotisserie oven, and replenish prepared side dishes in the display area.
• Prepare bakery items by carefully following thawing and baking instructions to maintain quality and presentation for products such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Carry out ordering, clearance, markdowns/markups, and label, sign, and pricing tasks as required.

Pay and important details

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.05.
