Job description
Role overview
The role focuses on supporting day-to-day FX dealing and trading operations across major currency pairs.
Key responsibilities
- Track currency market movements, relevant news, and economic developments that may influence FX pricing and trading.
- Support senior dealers with quote preparation, trade execution, and trade surveillance tasks.
- Assist in running electronic trading platforms and maintaining efficient execution processes.
- Contribute ideas to improve operational productivity through automation and technology-driven solutions.
- Build simple scripts and tools to help with reporting, monitoring, and process improvements.
- Carry out daily reconciliations, reporting, and administrative work linked to FX trading activity.
- Follow internal controls, risk guidelines, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Work with Operations, Risk, IT, and other internal teams whenever needed.
Skills and knowledge
- Comfort with technology, especially automation and electronic trading environments.
- Basic working knowledge of Python is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Solid numerical skills and careful attention to detail.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field is preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of FX markets and foreign exchange instruments.
- Interest in automation and electronic trading systems.
- Basic Python knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel; Bloomberg familiarity is a plus.
- Exposure to electronic trading platforms or financial market systems.
- Experience with data analysis, APIs, or scripting tools would be beneficial.
