Job description
Role Overview
This role is for a database administrator focused on Broadcom CA Datacom environments running on z/OS mainframe systems. The position centers on maintaining database stability, improving performance, supporting upgrades, and handling recovery and optimization tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer Broadcom CA Datacom database environments, specifically version 15.x.
- Support and manage z/OS mainframe database operations.
- Oversee MUF (Multi-User Facility) administration and related activities.
- Analyze database performance and resolve tuning or troubleshooting issues.
- Handle Datacom recovery processes, including forward recovery and dynamic backward recovery.
- Perform SMP/E maintenance tasks and manage upgrades.
- Provide SQL support for Datacom systems and improve query efficiency.
Additional Skills and Technical Exposure
- Working knowledge of RACF, Top Secret, or ACF2 security controls.
- Ability to write and maintain REXX scripts.
- Experience with DBUTLTY utilities.
- Understanding of disaster recovery testing processes.
- Capability to support database design work and DDL changes.
- Familiarity with partitioning, compression, and MDT concepts.
