Data Scientist (AI Focused)

Role Overview

This is a 12-month contract position for an AI-focused Data Scientist based in Singapore. The role is centered on turning data into business impact by shaping analytics initiatives, improving operational efficiency, and supporting decisions across the organization.

Compensation for this assignment is SGD 7,000 to SGD 8,500 per month.

What You’ll Do

• Set the direction for data science work that supports strategic business decisions and helps improve operations.
• Create, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using SQL, Tableau, Hive, and Presto to extract meaningful insights from large-scale datasets.
• Work closely with data scientists and analysts, while also guiding and coaching them to strengthen analytical quality and ongoing learning.
• Present complex analysis in a clear and persuasive way to both technical teams and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
• Build and enhance reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance metrics that scale efficiently and support continuous process improvement.

Profile and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• You should bring 2 to 4 years of experience supporting operational work in a technical setting.
• Strong command of operational KPIs and metrics is important for assessing performance and success.
• Hands-on expertise is needed in SQL, including writing, tuning, and maintaining complex queries, along with practical experience in Tableau, Hive, Presto, R, and Python.
• You must be able to convert dense data into clear business stories and strategic recommendations.
• Solid understanding of reporting architecture, data pipelines, and visualization best practices is expected.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Extra value will be given to candidates with customer operations or a similar domain background, experience working with large databases, evidence of measurable business impact through data science, and familiarity with AI tools.
