Job description

About Forbes Advisor

Forbes Advisor helps readers make practical, confident choices by providing reliable guidance that supports informed decisions. The organization brings together a seasoned group of specialists across content, SEO, business intelligence, finance, HR, marketing, production, technology, and sales, with coverage spanning consumer credit, debt, health, home improvement, banking, investing, credit cards, small business, education, insurance, loans, real estate, and travel.

Role Overview

The company is looking for a Data Research Analyst to support the editorial function by delivering high-quality content inputs. The position focuses on competitive market analysis and on maintaining strong standards for data gathering, review, and interpretation across financial products and services. The analysis produced in this role helps shape trustworthy assessments that guide businesses in choosing the right solutions.

You will coordinate project allocation for researchers and work closely with research leads, editorial, methodology, and SEO partners to resolve issues, respond to data requirements, and provide analysis that supports editorial output across the Forbes Advisor websites. The role combines project coordination and data analysis to produce timely, useful insights while helping strengthen the capacity of the Finserv research group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess incoming data requests for practicality, usefulness, and the ability to scale.
  • Use a research team to gather data on products and services.
  • Analyze collected information to identify strong products and service providers.
  • Prepare Tableau-based analyses under demanding deadlines while preserving quality and precision.
  • Create and run quality assurance processes, checking research outputs and correcting issues found.
  • Keep data research leads and editorial stakeholders updated on progress, analysis stages, and any risks to delivery timelines.
  • Review the resulting editorial content to confirm it is accurate and complete.
  • Potentially take on future line management duties, including monitoring analyst performance and supporting development.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable balancing several priorities across different teams. You should enjoy building deep product expertise and serving as a go-to source of information while keeping the needs of the business in focus.

Experience in US financial services, especially lending products, is important. Strong working knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel is expected, along with experience sharing findings through dashboards and visualizations in tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Clear, supportive communication is also essential, particularly when working with colleagues or direct reports across active projects.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant area such as business or economics, or equivalent practical training and experience.
  • Strong ability to use Tableau and spreadsheets for analysis and data manipulation.
  • SQL and Python skills for data handling and visualization are highly preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with international teams across multiple time zones is an advantage.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • 35 days of paid time off, including bank holidays.
  • Every third Friday of the month off.
  • Disability coverage.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Paid parental leave.
