Role overview
This position focuses on creating and running a strong framework for protecting sensitive and regulated information. The specialist will shape the approach to data security, work closely with stakeholders across the business and technology teams, and help ensure information is safeguarded against loss or unauthorized disclosure.
What you will do
- Build and execute a layered data protection approach using data classification, data discovery, encryption measures, and DLP tools.
- Write, maintain, and apply DLP policies and rule sets that reduce the risk of confidential data being exposed through email, web, cloud services, and endpoints.
- Set up, fine-tune, and administer Symantec DLP and/or Forcepoint DLP to identify, track, and stop data leakage activity.
- Carry out routine data security risk reviews and suggest actions that strengthen the overall security position.
- Handle suspected data protection incidents by investigating, containing, and supporting remediation efforts promptly.
- Work with business teams to understand how information is used and to put in place controls that align with regulatory obligations.
- Run awareness and training sessions on data protection practices and compliance expectations.
- Keep documentation, reporting, and governance activities up to date for DLP and data protection operations.
What you need
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in data security, with a strong focus on data protection and DLP.
- Practical experience deploying and managing Symantec DLP and/or Forcepoint DLP is required.
- Solid knowledge of data classification models, privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, and encryption technologies.
- Professional certifications such as CIPP, CDPSE, or similar are preferred.
- Experience working with cloud-based data protection tools and controls.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and incident response skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Work environment
This is an on-site role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
