Job description

Role overview

Tourisme Montérégie is seeking a part-time Data Insights Analyst to support evidence-based decisions across marketing, operations, and partner-focused initiatives. This entry-level remote position is centered on turning tourism data into practical takeaways for internal stakeholders and external collaborators.

What you'll do

In this role, you will gather, tidy, and structure tourism-related data from different sources while maintaining consistency and accuracy. You will carry out straightforward analyses, create basic dashboards or reports, and surface meaningful trends, patterns, and performance measures. You will also convert findings into easy-to-understand insights and visuals, support one-off analytical requests, update reports, and keep documentation of data workflows current.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should bring strong analytical ability and a working understanding of data analytics concepts so they can interpret information and support decisions. A basic grasp of statistics is important for running simple analyses, checking trends, and validating outputs. Some exposure to data modeling, whether through coursework or experience, is useful for organizing information in a scalable way. Clear communication skills are needed to explain insights to non-technical audiences. Comfort using spreadsheets and data tools such as Excel or Google Sheets is expected, and familiarity with BI tools would be an added advantage.

Work style and environment

This is a fully remote role that requires dependable virtual collaboration, good time management, the ability to work on your own, and a consistent approach to meeting deadlines.

Preferred background and interests

Post-secondary studies or current enrollment in data analytics, statistics, business, tourism, or a similar field is preferred. An interest in tourism, regional development, or destination marketing will also be considered a plus.
