Role overview
Natco Middle-East is looking for a Customs Clearance Supervisor to oversee import and export clearance activities end to end. The role is focused on making sure shipping documents are prepared correctly, regulatory steps are completed on time, and cargo moves through Saudi customs without unnecessary delays.
The right candidate should already understand Saudi customs rules and the broader regulatory environment, and should be comfortable working with digital clearance platforms such as FASAH, SABER, and Bayan.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise customs brokers at port locations so shipment clearance runs efficiently.
- Draft, review, and file customs declarations with full accuracy and in line with Saudi Customs requirements and trade regulations.
- Work with Saudi Customs and other authorities to support approvals, clearance progress, and cargo release, including coordination with port operations.
- Partner with freight forwarders, transport providers, and internal teams to keep shipments moving and tracked smoothly.
- Ensure adherence to customs laws covering HS classification, valuation, duty assessment, VAT, and import/export controls.
- Use official systems including FASAH, SABER, and Bayan to process declarations, certifications, and approvals.
- Manage inspections, document checks, and regulatory clarifications, and resolve holds or mismatches quickly.
- Keep current with updates to Saudi customs regulations, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Maintain complete, well-organized records of customs activity for audits, reporting, and compliance reviews.
- Guide internal teams and clients on customs procedures, documentation needs, and regulatory expectations.
- Work proactively to reduce demurrage, detention, penalties, and delay-related costs.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with regulatory and government bodies including SFDA, SASO/SABER, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Energy, ZATCA/VAT, and other GCC authorities.
- Ensure compliance for FMCG, cosmetics, chemicals, raw materials, packaging materials, and factory equipment, along with all applicable Saudi and GCC requirements.
Experience and qualification requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of hands-on customs clearance experience in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong working knowledge of Saudi customs procedures, classification methods, valuation, and compliance frameworks.
- Practical exposure to government platforms such as FASAH, SABER, and Bayan.
- Strong analytical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English.
