Customer Delivery Driver - Stafford Extra

About the role

As a Tesco Customer Delivery Driver, you’ll be the familiar face customers see when their shopping arrives at home. The job goes beyond driving alone — it’s about delivering helpful, friendly service and making every doorstep interaction feel positive. The work is active, practical and varied, with each shift bringing something different. You’ll spend much of your day working independently, while still having support from managers and colleagues based at the store when needed.

The starting pay is £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 per hour in stores located within the M25. Some locations may also include extra payments. A minimum of 16 hours per week is guaranteed, although contracts from 12 hours are also available.

Availability window

You should be available during the following times:

• Friday: 15:00 to 23:00
• Saturday: 15:00 to 23:00
• Sunday: 15:00 to 23:00

Key duties

• Keep the van, trays and working area clean, well arranged and ready so every order reaches the customer in excellent condition.
• Load the vehicle safely and carry out the required checks to make sure it is roadworthy and prepared for the shift.
• Explain substitutions, order changes and short-dated items clearly and politely, while arranging refunds where required to keep things simple for the customer.
• Handle every product carefully and treat each delivery with the same attention you would give your own shopping.
• Deliver within the promised time slot and provide a friendly, natural service at the customer’s door.

What you need

You’ll need to work well with colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere that helps deliver excellent customer service. A warm, approachable attitude is important when dealing with both customers and coworkers. You should also be comfortable adapting quickly as priorities change while working in-store and on the road. A valid UK, EU or EEA driving licence, either full or automatic, held for at least 12 months, is required, and you must have no more than 3 penalty points.
