Customer Delivery Driver - Cleethorpes Extra

About the role

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will represent Tesco at customers’ homes and play a key part in creating a positive delivery experience. The job is not limited to driving; it combines customer service, practical hands-on work, and physical activity. Each shift can look different, and you will spend much of your time working on your own while still being supported by managers and colleagues at the base.

Working pattern

The advertised availability window is:

• Wednesday: 08:00 to 16:00
• Thursday: 13:00 to 21:15
• Saturday: 09:00 to 21:15

Pay and hours

Hourly pay begins at £14.18, increasing to £15.45 in stores located within the M25. Certain locations may also include extra payments. The role offers a guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week, and some positions are available from 12 hours per week.

What you will do

• Keep the van, trays, and work area neat, clean, and well organised so every order arrives in excellent condition.
• Load the vehicle safely and carry out the necessary checks to make sure it is fit for the road and ready for deliveries.
• Speak with customers in a helpful and reassuring manner about substitutions, order changes, and short-dated products, including processing refunds when needed.
• Handle each order carefully and protect product quality throughout the delivery process.
• Deliver orders within the agreed time slot and provide a friendly, professional doorstep service.

What you need

• The ability to work closely with colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
• A warm, approachable manner with both customers and team members.
• Comfort with change and the ability to respond quickly to different customer needs while working on the road and in store.
• A valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence, full or automatic, held for at least 12 months.
• No more than 3 penalty points on your driving licence.
