Job description
Role overview
Join B&Q in Waterford as a TradePoint Customer Advisor, supporting trade members with a service-led approach. In this role, you’ll spend time understanding each customer’s needs so you can suggest the most suitable products and services, while helping create a positive experience at the TradePoint counter.
This is a permanent full-time position with 36.75 working hours per week. Shifts can fall between Monday and Sunday, from 7:00am to 10:00pm. The hourly rate is €15.45, with a Sunday premium of €18.75 per hour.
What the role involves
You will be the first point of contact for trade customers and will handle a wide range of enquiries daily. A key part of the role is taking responsibility for TradePoint members, building a clear understanding of their business through meaningful conversations, and using that knowledge to recommend relevant products and services.
Skills and approach
The role calls for someone who communicates clearly, works well with others, and can adapt their style to different people and situations. You should be confident in building customer relationships, spotting opportunities for new business, and helping customers see value through promotions and the trade loyalty scheme. A willingness to keep learning through training and teamwork is important, as is flexibility to work a rota that includes weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
Benefits and culture
You’ll be part of a team that values inclusion, wellbeing, and equal opportunity. B&Q says it is committed to building a more diverse workforce that reflects the communities it serves, with networks and support available to colleagues and allies.
The benefits package includes an award-winning pension scheme, 7 weeks of holiday including bank holidays, payroll giving, an employee assistance programme, shopping discounts, colleague wellbeing support, and other benefits. The company also offers generous breaks to help colleagues stay refreshed and perform well.
