About the Role

Berkeley County School District is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join their team in Charleston, South Carolina. This is a part-time, onsite position focused on maintaining the cleanliness and safety of school facilities. The role involves ensuring a hygienic environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Wipe down surfaces, furniture, and fixtures.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
• Assist with minor repairs or upkeep as needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed according to established standards and schedules.

Requirements

• Must complete and submit an online application with all required documents.
• Resume required.
• Verification of high school diploma or equivalent, or at least one year of verified custodial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Negative TB test results (under 1 year old) are strongly encouraged and required for onboarding if selected. Applicants without current results must acknowledge they will be uploaded upon completion.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting.

Perks

• Annual salary range of $32,673 - $48,000.
• Work schedule of 8 hours per day for 245 employment days annually.
