Role overview
This position is responsible for creating pilot and cabin crew rosters that are efficient, compliant, and aligned with operational needs. The role ensures that flight operations can legally cover every sector in the network with properly qualified crew, while following GCAA regulations, company policies, and internal guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Build and optimize crew rosters using practical and strategic planning methods to achieve efficiency, cost control, and fatigue-risk management for both pilot and cabin crew, while staying within GCAA requirements.
- Assess roster fairness, productivity measures, and operational resilience during optimization, while also taking crew satisfaction into account.
- Review different optimized roster options against departmental KPIs and recommend the most suitable solution to the line manager.
- Set up crew pre-assignments in the crew tracking system in preparation for monthly roster optimization, excluding training-related items.
- Share feedback with pilots and cabin crew regarding roster stability and overall roster satisfaction.
- Monitor email inboxes and respond to internal stakeholders and crewmembers within the required timeframes.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should have post-secondary education such as a diploma, degree, or relevant courses in a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 3 years of experience in airline crew scheduling or planning is required, along with hands-on exposure to relevant systems.
