Job description

Role overview

This position offers the chance to join a European event agency that works with globally recognised brands. It suits someone who enjoys the pace and change of experiential event delivery.

The Creative Resource Manager is accountable for making sure the agency’s creative people are allocated effectively across projects. The aim is to strike the right balance between workload, capability and employee wellbeing so the team can consistently deliver strong live experiences.

Working across creative, production and operations, the role combines planning and day-to-day execution. It involves coordinating resources across active projects while keeping a close eye on team capacity, available skills and upcoming needs.

Resource planning and allocation

  • Manage the daily and longer-term scheduling of creative teams, including designers, writers, creatives and artworkers.
  • Assign the most suitable people to each project by considering skills, experience, creative fit and development objectives.
  • Distribute work evenly across the team to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of burnout.
  • Respond quickly when priorities, deadlines or project demands change.

Project collaboration

  • Work closely with Creative Directors, Account teams and Producers to understand project scope, timelines and staffing needs.
  • Join kick-off meetings and status meetings to identify requirements early.
  • Help ensure creative teams receive clear briefs, realistic schedules and the right level of support.

Capacity and forecasting

  • Keep a clear view of utilisation, future demand and any resource shortfalls.
  • Create weekly and monthly updates on capacity, utilisation and freelance requirements.
  • Assist leadership with planning for busy periods, hiring choices and freelance strategy.

Freelance and external resource management

  • Develop and maintain a reliable network of freelance creatives.
  • Source freelancers and manage onboarding when needed.
  • Handle rate negotiation and booking administration.
  • Make sure external talent integrates smoothly and maintains the required quality standards.

Process and tools

  • Own and improve the agency’s resource management systems and tools.
  • Continuously refine briefing, scheduling and workflow visibility processes.
  • Introduce more efficient ways of working that support both creative quality and operational clarity.

Team wellbeing and development

  • Monitor workload levels across the creative team.
  • Promote sustainable working practices.
  • Support personal development by identifying stretch opportunities and exposure to varied project types.

Creative understanding

  • Build a strong grasp of creative disciplines, design workflows and live event production cycles.
  • Act as the bridge between creative ambition and operational reality.

What the agency is looking for

The ideal candidate brings experience in resource management, studio management or traffic management within a creative agency environment, preferably in live events, experiential work or production. The role also calls for strong organisation, the ability to prioritise in a fast-moving setting, and clear communication with a wide range of stakeholders.

You should be confident making decisions under pressure and bring a proactive, detail-oriented approach to the role.

Desirable experience

  • Previous work in live events or experiential marketing.
  • Knowledge of creative workflows from concept through to design and production.
  • Experience with planning platforms such as Float, Resource Guru or Monday.
  • Awareness of the freelance market and different creative specialisms.

Additional qualities

  • Ability to stay calm when things get busy.
  • Practical, solution-oriented thinking.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Balanced approach: empathetic, but able to make decisions.
  • Genuine interest in creative work and the people who produce it.

Workplace culture

Verve states that great work comes from a strong workplace. The agency became Great Place to Work® certified in September 2025, based on employee feedback and a review of company culture. The certification reflects a workplace built on trust, inclusion and care for employees.
