About the role
Marina Bay Sands is looking for a Count Cashier to support its casino count room activities in Singapore. This position is suited to someone who enjoys working with large cash volumes, values accuracy, and can operate in a regulated, security-focused environment.
Count room operations
- Count and reconcile substantial amounts of currency, chips, and vouchers coming in from different casino functions, including slot and table game operations.
- Use counting equipment such as currency and coin machines and keep the equipment handled properly.
- Separate and balance the day’s cash drops collected from gaming areas.
- Move cash boxes and related equipment safely between the gaming floor and the count room using heavy motorized trolleys.
Recording and reporting
- Compile shift-end and daily reports that track financial activity.
- Record count results and reconciliations in casino accounting systems.
- Spot differences in counts and work quickly to correct them.
Compliance and security
- Work in line with internal controls, gaming rules, and all required compliance standards.
- Maintain strict security while handling cash, chips, and other valuable assets.
- Support internal or external audit activities when required.
Customer service and coordination
- Communicate professionally with gaming teams, management, and other departments while processing fund transfers accurately.
- Respond to questions or concerns connected to cash counts and reconciliation work.
Teamwork and collaboration
- Work closely with other count room staff to complete daily tasks efficiently.
- Help train new cashiers or count team members when needed.
Requirements
- Completion of high school or an equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience in cash handling, banking, or cashier work, ideally in a casino or similar setting.
- Very strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to handle and reconcile large amounts of money confidently.
- Familiarity with automated counting tools and systems.
- Basic computer skills, including common software and accounting applications.
- Physical capability to stand or sit for long periods.
- Comfort with lifting, moving, and transporting cash boxes, as well as operating motorized trolleys.
- Good physical dexterity for handling large cash volumes and heavy items in a busy, fast-moving environment.
