About the role
Serco is offering an opportunity to build a meaningful career in a role that supports safety, rehabilitation, and positive change. As a Correctional Case Officer at Clarence Correctional Centre in Lavadia, New South Wales, you will help supervise inmates, maintain order, and contribute to a secure and respectful correctional environment that supports reintegration into the community.
What you’ll do
- Oversee and support inmates while encouraging rehabilitation and preparation for life after custody.
- Carry out searches, observe inmate activity, and help maintain a controlled, safe, and secure setting.
- Use clear communication and practical judgment to handle tense situations and restore calm when needed.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support inmate welfare and daily operations.

What you need

- Strong interpersonal communication, empathy, and resilience.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure and make sensible decisions.
- Good physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
- A current driver’s licence.
- Willingness to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice, which is fully funded.
