Role overview

Hutt City Council is seeking two permanent full-time Corporate Planning Advisors to join its team in Lower Hutt. This position suits someone who enjoys working across the big picture and the finer details, using research, analysis, and sound judgement to help shape decisions. The role supports the planning and reporting activities that guide the Council's strategic direction, including the Long Term Plan, Annual Plan, internal business planning, and quarterly reporting. You will work alongside the Corporate Planning Lead and colleagues across the organisation to keep planning processes aligned, transparent, and effective.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the design, delivery, and tracking of corporate planning and reporting activities.
  • Provide advice on business planning and operational priorities.
  • Help prepare council accountability documents such as the Annual Plan and Annual Report.
  • Carry out research, evaluation, and data analysis to support planning and decision-making.
  • Review internal and external risks that could affect delivery.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to produce practical insights and advice.

  • Strong capability in interpreting and analysing data for strategic use.
  • Clear, confident communication skills in both written and spoken form.
