Job description

About the role

Monzo is looking for an experienced and detail-focused Corporate Governance Manager to join the Monzo Europe Company Secretarial team in Dublin. In this role, you will become a central point for governance activity as Monzo expands its banking presence in Ireland. The position suits someone who can move quickly, apply sound judgement, and help deliver strong governance outcomes in a regulated environment.

You will support the Monzo Europe Board and its committees, help ensure governance practices stay aligned with legal and regulatory expectations, and work closely with the General Counsel & Company Secretary, Deputy Company Secretary, and wider governance teams. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to a growing business and strengthen your company secretarial expertise while owning key governance processes.

The role is based in Dublin and follows a hybrid working pattern, with attendance in the office 2 to 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities

You will help manage Board and committee operations, maintain compliance obligations, support governance documentation, and partner with stakeholders across Monzo Europe and the wider group.

  • Coordinate Board and committee meetings, including logistics, agenda preparation, paper circulation, dispatch support, attendance tracking, minute-taking, action tracking, and decision logs.
  • Serve as secretary to selected Board committees and support full Board administration.
  • Provide coordination support to Board directors, including onboarding and induction of new members.
  • Support statutory and regulatory compliance work, including filings, corporate registers, and governance-related regulatory returns.
  • Assist with statutory compliance requirements for corporate transactions.
  • Help build, review, and maintain governance policies, processes, procedures, notes, checklists, and Board documentation.
  • Support annual governance activities such as annual reporting and Board performance reviews.
  • Work as a governance partner to internal stakeholders and contribute to ad-hoc projects across Monzo Europe and the wider Monzo Group.
  • Maintain KYC corporate information records and respond to third-party KYC information requests.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is a qualified company secretary with relevant Irish experience, strong governance knowledge, and comfort working in a fast-moving and regulated financial services setting. You should be able to work independently, communicate clearly with senior leaders, and improve governance processes where needed.

  • Qualified company secretary status such as ACG or an equivalent credential.
  • Irish company secretarial experience, preferably within financial services or another regulated sector.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and applicable financial regulation, including CBI Corporate Governance Requirements.
  • Experience handling core company secretarial work such as statutory compliance, Board and committee coordination, and drafting high-quality minutes.
  • Ability to think through wider business impacts and involve the right stakeholders in the process.
  • Confident communication skills for working with Board members, executives, and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience improving governance processes to make them more efficient or effective.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a changing environment.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a business that continues to evolve.

Compensation and benefits

The salary range for this role is €66,100 to €80,500 per year, plus incentive awards linked to performance. Monzo also offers a package of benefits designed to support development, wellbeing, and financial health.

  • Annual leave of 34 days, including public holidays.
  • €1,200 yearly learning budget for books, training, and conferences.
  • Private healthcare cover.
  • Pension scheme with a minimum 4% employee contribution and employer matching of additional contributions up to 6%.
  • Wellbeing support including financial education, women’s and men’s health support, and mental health resources such as coaching and counselling.
  • Flexible working hours.

Application process

The hiring process has three stages: a 30-minute recruiter call, a 30-minute conversation with the hiring manager, and two hours of technical and behavioural interviews. The process is expected to take around 3 to 4 weeks, and the team aims to stay flexible with scheduling.

Employment decisions are made without regard to age, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran status, neurodiversity, or disability status.
