About the role
A major diversified conglomerate headquartered in the GCC is hiring a senior Corporate Business Development & M&A Director to help establish and grow its TMT platform. This position is focused on identifying, structuring, and delivering acquisitions, joint ventures, and greenfield investments across MENA, Central Asia, and other frontier markets. The role reports directly to the Group CEO and carries direct exposure to the Board.
Key responsibilities
- Source and shape M&A opportunities that fit the Group’s strategic direction.
- Drive transactions from initial investment thesis through Board approval and completion.
- Design and negotiate acquisition, joint venture, carve-out, and infrastructure deal structures.
- Prepare and present investment papers and recommendations to the Board and Investment Committee.
- Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities in Telecom, Cloud, and Digital Infrastructure.
- Oversee cross-border due diligence, business valuation, and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate and manage external advisors such as banks, legal teams, and specialist consultants.
Candidate profile
- At least 12 years of relevant M&A experience, with a strong history in Telecom and Technology transactions.
- Exposure to both the corporate/operator side and/or backgrounds in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Consulting; experience across both is preferred.
- Proven capability to independently originate, structure, negotiate, and close deals.
- Demonstrated success in securing Board or Investment Committee approvals.
- Cross-border transaction experience in CIS, MENA, GCC, or other emerging markets is highly desirable.
- Advanced financial modelling capability, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company and transaction analysis.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline; MBA or CFA is considered an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required; Russian language skills are a strong plus.
Additional information
This is a senior principal-level appointment with broad strategic responsibility and significant stakeholder engagement. The position is based in Doha, Qatar and is offered on a full-time, onsite basis.
