The team now includes more than 700 people working across 12 locations and 9 time zones.
Role overview
This newly created Corporate Affairs Manager position is designed for an experienced communications professional who can bring structure to complexity and turn strategy into influence. The role sits at the intersection of public relations, product communications, and regulatory positioning, and will help define how Pepperstone is represented externally.
You will shape the company’s global corporate story, turning fast-moving financial market developments into clear, compelling messaging that strengthens reputation. The role will influence how Pepperstone is viewed in key markets and as an employer brand, while helping ensure the business is positioned confidently within Australia’s regulatory environment.
This is a hands-on and strategic opportunity that involves working closely with senior leaders, developing thought leadership, building media visibility, and maintaining consistent communication across regions, products, and channels.
The position is part-time, requiring three days per week, based in Melbourne, and offered as a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute corporate communications plans that support business priorities and growth goals.
- Convert Australian regulatory changes into external messaging that is clear, credible, and confident.
- Ensure the CEO office, senior leaders, and PR teams are aligned on accurate and consistent communications.
- Identify communication opportunities that can support expansion, growth, and competitive positioning.
- Handle media engagement activities such as press releases, story pitches, statements, and tier-1 coverage in Australia.
- Work with senior leaders on messaging, briefing materials, and thought leadership content.
- Support product launches and major initiatives with messaging that is coordinated and on brand.
- Track developments in the market, regulatory environment, and media landscape, and provide timely insights and responses.
- Help manage reputational risk and support issues and crisis communications in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
- Collaborate across PR, marketing, legal, and regional teams to maintain consistent communication.
Requirements
- At least 5-10+ years of experience in corporate affairs, strategic communications, or public relations, either in-house or in an agency.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian financial services sector and its regulatory environment, with the ability to simplify complex topics for external audiences.
- Background in financial services, fintech, trading, or crypto, or the ability to quickly understand sophisticated financial concepts.
- Proven experience working with senior stakeholders and turning leadership views into coherent external narratives.
- A proactive approach to spotting communication opportunities and aligning them with business objectives.
- Solid media relations experience, including earning coverage and building journalist relationships in Australia.
- Excellent writing ability, especially for translating technical material into engaging and accessible content.
- A collaborative working style and experience partnering with PR and cross-functional teams to deliver smoothly.
- Understanding of how regulation, market structure, and product design shape customer behaviour and industry dynamics.
Perks and benefits
- Competitive pay structure.
- Friendly and collaborative working culture.
- Flexible and hybrid work arrangements.
- Remote work option for up to 4 weeks each year, in addition to standard hybrid working.
- Ongoing learning and personal development opportunities.
- 15 weeks of paid parental leave for primary carers and 4 weeks for secondary carers.
- 3 paid volunteering days each year, plus a Workplace Giving Program.
- Regular events and celebrations, including a weekly social gathering.
- A renovated office at Collins Square, 727 Collins Street, Melbourne.
- Best-in-class end-of-trip facilities, including bicycle parking, change rooms, and showers.
- Fully stocked kitchen, onsite coffee machines with locally sourced beans, and specialty teas.
