About the Role
Book Buddy Media is inviting seasoned English-language copyeditors, proofreaders, and factcheckers to join its pool for recurring weekly editing assignments. Candidates should be able to commit at least 5 hours each week.
Project Scope
Selected editors may be invited to work on upcoming projects such as children's books, educational materials, student lesson content, and teacher guides for grades K-8 across Social Studies, Language Arts, Science, and Math.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in English, creative writing, journalism, communications, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- Applicants should have 1 to 2 years of editing experience aligned with The Chicago Manual of Style.
- Experience working from internal style sheets is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, including comments and tracked changes, is needed.
- Comfort with Adobe Acrobat markup tools for PDFs is important.
- Ability to proofread PDF files for spelling, typographical, layout, and design issues is expected.
- Must be able to handle several assignments and meet overlapping deadlines.
