Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous Copy Editor III to support Retail Engagement, Marketing, and Merchandising (REMM) work in Cupertino, California. In this 12-month contract role, you will refine digital and print communications for a global audience, helping ensure every piece is accurate, polished, and consistent with brand standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit and proofread marketing, retail engagement, and merchandising content for clarity, accuracy, tone, grammar, punctuation, and style.
  • Verify facts carefully and ensure content aligns with U.S. English usage and Chicago-style conventions.
  • Support both digital and print deliverables that are intended for a worldwide audience.
  • Collaborate with creative, marketing, and content teams to improve messaging quality and consistency.
  • Use AI-assisted content tools as part of the content development workflow when appropriate.
  • Prioritize assignments efficiently and adapt to changing needs in a fast-moving environment.

Required Background

This position calls for at least 5 years of editing experience, ideally gained in creative teams or marketing-focused organizations. A strong command of writing, proofreading, and editorial judgment is essential, along with deep familiarity with U.S.-style English, grammar rules, punctuation, and The Chicago Manual of Style. Candidates should also be comfortable working independently, contributing in a team setting, and handling a results-driven, high-change workplace.

Preferred Experience

Experience with marketing or social media copy, digital publishing tools, and content management systems is an advantage. Exposure to high-profile global brands or retail communications is also preferred.

Additional Notes

Applicants should be prepared to complete a copyediting test during the hiring process. This role is based onsite in Cupertino, CA 95014.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this contract role ranges from $42.00 to $50.00, depending on factors such as client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location. Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), and commuter benefits.
