Job description
Role overview
This position is for an on-site Contractor Escort based at HMP Long Lartin. The role supports the safe, compliant and timely delivery of planned and reactive maintenance work inside the prison environment.
The annual salary for this post is £27,426. The standard working pattern is 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with an earlier finish every Friday.
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out safety checks on contractors and monitoring their activity.
- Supporting site induction activities.
- Providing flexible support across operational areas of the establishment when needed, including assisting contractors working on site.
- Helping deliver local and wider zero-carbon initiatives in an efficient and practical way where appropriate.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained across the contract.

The successful candidate should bring a professional, customer-focused attitude and be ready to adapt to changing duties. You must be able to work in line with instructions, procedures and safety guidance, while remaining alert to security and safety risks.
Additional requirements and conditions
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence. Prison Security Clearance will also be required, and support will be provided through that process.
