Role overview

This position is responsible for handling contracts from initial request through final closure, while ensuring terms are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Examine contract language, special clauses, and commercial terms including pricing, scope, intellectual property, confidentiality, service levels, and liability limits to spot risk and confirm alignment with policy, laws, and regulations.
  • Create negotiation approaches and handle or support discussions in urgent situations; propose alternatives, record positions, and escalate unusual terms when approval is required.
  • Prepare, edit, and route contract documents for internal review, approval, and signature, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and properly authorized before execution.
  • Work with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Compliance, Finance, Legal, Information Security, and Management to gather input, validate requirements, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Assess contract change requests, including amendments, change orders, and SOW updates; keep version history controlled and maintain a clear audit trail of approvals and departures from standard terms.
  • Administer signed agreements by tracking obligations, deliverables, milestones, renewals, and notice periods, while supporting compliance and close-out activities.
  • Improve contract administration processes, systems, procedures, templates, standard clauses, and negotiation guides to make workflows more efficient and shorten turnaround times.
  • Advise internal teams on contract interpretation and commercial terms, and help deliver training and process updates to encourage consistent contracting practices.
  • Keep contract records accurate in contract management systems, track KPIs such as cycle time, renewal pipeline, and exceptions, and prepare leadership updates when needed.
  • Support commercial matters involving licensing, data use arrangements, renewals, and new business, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely completion and rollout.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a comparable role is needed.
  • Background in market research contracts is preferred.
