The position also supports negotiations, helps protect the company’s interests, promotes sound operational and financial results, and contributes to a smooth contract close-out while maintaining productive relationships with clients, subcontractors, partners, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage active contracts for assigned packages and verify adherence to contract terms.
  • Keep complete records of contractual letters, notices, and reports, and maintain an effective system for document control and tracking.
  • Prepare and evaluate letters and formal correspondence for clients, partners, and subcontractors, ensuring notices and reports are issued on time.
  • Spot possible claims and variation issues and assemble the supporting evidence and documentation required.
  • Build valuation assessments and time impact analyses for claims and variations, and assist during related negotiations.
  • Recognize contractual risks, recommend practical mitigation measures, update the risk register, and monitor follow-up actions.
  • Check subcontractor and supplier payment requests and oversee client invoicing to confirm contractual compliance.
  • Identify contractual deductions and adjustments where needed and advise project teams on contractual matters.
  • Attend meetings and negotiation sessions and support project management in protecting contractual positions.
  • Carry out contract close-out activities, confirm liabilities are discharged as required, and prepare monthly progress updates covering claims, variations, invoices, and correspondence.

Requirements

  • 5 to 9 years of relevant experience.
  • BSc in Engineering, preferably in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architecture.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in construction, consulting, or power plant projects.
  • Hands-on knowledge of contract management, especially FIDIC and ad hoc arrangements.
  • Strong capability in drafting and reviewing contracts.
  • Solid experience handling claims, including EOT and cost claims.
  • Good understanding of variations, change orders, risk allocation, mitigation, and dispute resolution.
