About Atomi

Atomi is rethinking education by making learning simpler, more engaging, and more effective for students and teachers. The company blends modern technology with a creative, people-first approach to help turn complicated ideas into easy-to-understand learning experiences for students, educators, and parents.

The team values curiosity, humility, high standards, and continuous innovation. In this role, your ideas and creativity will have a direct impact on how learners around the world interact with educational content.

Role overview

As a Content Writer, you will create educational material that helps students and teachers learn and teach more effectively. The core focus is Biology, and you will be responsible for producing clear, high-quality learning content such as video scripts, assessments, text lessons, course outlines, and lesson plans. You will also translate curriculum requirements into content that is practical, accurate, and student-friendly.

Experience with either the Biology HSC or VCE curriculum is required. Background knowledge in Physics or Chemistry is considered an advantage.

What you will do

  • Develop educational pieces such as video scripts, assessments, and written lessons that are engaging and easy to follow.
  • Convert curriculum material into structured course and lesson plans that support both teachers and student outcomes.
  • Use strong Biology knowledge to simplify complex syllabus topics for a student audience.
  • Stay current with subject knowledge and evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Work from a detailed style guide to ensure consistency in tone, quality, and audience fit.
  • Balance several assignments at once, manage time effectively, and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Visual Content Designers, Subject Team Leads, and other teammates to produce accurate and compelling content.
  • Contribute ideas and help improve team processes through feedback sessions, workshops, and discussions.

What you need

  • Strong knowledge of secondary school Biology, with HSC or VCE experience required.
  • An understanding of how to create content that genuinely supports student learning.
  • Excellent writing and editing ability, with the skill to explain difficult concepts in simple language.
  • A genuine interest in education and learning design.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to explain your thinking clearly.
  • Comfort using project management tools, or willingness to learn them quickly.
  • Proven success in Biology, either through teaching or as a student.
  • Teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
  • Interest in learning design is welcome, and training will be provided if you are new to it.

Working at Atomi

  • Flexible work arrangements designed to support study, family, or personal commitments.
  • Additional paid leave available for permanent employees.
  • Freedom to work from Sydney, another state, or any location that suits you.
  • Ongoing opportunities for learning, development, and skill growth.
  • Employee wellbeing support through an assistance program subscription and extra wellbeing leave.
  • Parental leave benefits, including 14 weeks of paid leave for new parents and extra leave for birthing parents.
  • Opportunities to work with high-performing colleagues.
  • Regular social activities, both in person and online, including sports events, trivia nights, and themed celebrations.
  • Free access to Atomi services for you and your family.
  • Sydney-based office access in a central location with nearby cafes, shops, and public transport.
