Job description

Overview

Mango Media Co is looking for a content strategist who can shape marketing direction and also handle day-to-day delivery. The role suits someone who is comfortable balancing planning and execution, and who can turn a client’s business objectives into practical marketing activity.

About Mango Media Co

Mango Media Co is a content marketing agency on the Mornington Peninsula. The team works only with premium residential builders and trade businesses across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Clients come to the agency to do more than publish content — they want stronger job opportunities, better talent attraction, and a clearer reputation as leaders in their market. The agency supports those goals through photography, videography, and social media marketing built around each client’s business outcomes.

About the Role

You will act as the strategic lead for a group of clients. Your work will involve understanding each client’s goals, building a content marketing plan around those goals, briefing the production team on what needs to be captured and why, and then carrying the strategy through on social media. This includes writing captions, planning content balance, and managing calendars.

You will also be the primary contact for clients on an ongoing basis. Since many of the clients are builders rather than marketing professionals, a major part of the job is explaining the work clearly, keeping them updated, and showing how each activity supports the results they care about.

There will be a short settling-in period while you learn the clients and internal process, but this is a hands-on role from the beginning. The business is seeking someone who is ready to step in now rather than someone still building toward this level.

This is a part-time position for 18 hours per week, worked across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The role is based in the Mornington office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content marketing strategies from client business goals and manage them through the full delivery process
  • Create shoot briefs that give the production team clear direction before on-site work begins
  • Write social media captions, shape content mix, and maintain each client’s content calendar
  • Lead monthly client meetings to assess performance, refine the strategy, and keep clients informed
  • Explain the purpose of the work to clients in straightforward language they can easily follow
  • Work closely with the agency director to ensure planning and execution stay connected

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a client-facing marketing position, preferably within an agency environment such as account management or content strategy
  • Strong client communication skills, with the confidence to work with people who are not marketing experts
  • Excellent writing ability, including the ability to produce effective social media copy that suits the brand
  • Self-directed working style with the ability to take ownership without close supervision
  • Comfort using performance data to shape decisions and guide strategy
  • Interest in, or experience with, the building and construction sector is preferred
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling and management platforms is preferred
  • Experience in a creative or content agency is preferred

Compensation

The pay rate is $45 per hour, plus superannuation. The role also offers a clear opportunity to transition into a full-time position as the business grows.

Working Arrangement

This is an office-based position in Mornington, Victoria, Australia. The schedule is 18 hours per week across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
