Job description
About 38TERA
38TERA is a gut-health supplement brand created by gastroenterologist Dr. Will Bulsiewicz (Dr. B) and co-founder Simon Hill. The company sits where clinical research meets everyday wellness, with products that are carefully studied, honestly dosed, and designed for people who expect more from what they take. The team is growing quickly as the product line expands from one product to five in 2026.
The culture is built around care, rigor, and accountability, with a strong focus on making work that reflects the standards of the company.
About the Role
38TERA is looking for a Content & Brand Manager who is, above all, an outstanding writer. This is a highly creative position centered on voice, clarity, and persuasion. You will shape how the brand sounds across every customer-facing touchpoint, translating Dr. B's medical credibility and Simon Hill's nutrition expertise into content that feels human, sharp, and worth reading.
You will own copy across the brand's owned channels, and as the internal team expands, copy ownership will remain with this role. The job is not only about writing strong content, but also about managing the systems that keep content moving: the editorial calendar, founder-led content production, and lead-capture funnels. You will report to the Marketing Director, who sets the strategic direction while giving you room to execute independently.
The right person brings both creative strength and operational discipline. Strong writing is essential, and the ability to manage a fast-moving content engine is what will make you successful in a small team.
What You Will Own
Brand Voice and Copywriting: Act as the primary guardian and writer of the 38TERA voice across website content, email, SMS, organic social, blog posts, landing pages, and lead magnets. You will write everything from subject lines and hooks to captions and long-form assets, while also briefing the Creative team and paid media agency on messaging direction. You will also lead quarterly brand voice reviews to keep the tone consistent and recognizable. Final approval on copy remains with the Marketing Director, and visual creative is owned by the Creative Director.
Content Strategy and Editorial Planning: Help shape the content framework and then run it day to day. The content approach is grounded in real science but designed to feel accessible and relatable, carrying forward the founders' strength in translating evidence into language people trust. You will manage a structured calendar across organic social, blog/SEO, email, and lead magnets, turning strategy into weekly delivery and measurable content goals. You will also adapt messaging for emerging audience groups such as GLP-1 and perimenopause audiences as the brand develops them.
Founder-Led Content Engine: Serve as the editorial force behind Dr. B and Simon Hill. Your role is to make their content output easier, stronger, and more efficient. You will arrive at recording sessions with researched topics, angles, and concise lines the founders can deliver naturally, then turn those sessions into a multi-channel content pipeline for paid, organic, and email. You will manage cadence and quality while preserving their educator-first voice. They should always come across as teachers rather than salespeople, and never be positioned around promotions or discounts.
Organic Social: Own the organic social presence end to end, currently focused on Instagram and expected to expand only as the strategy supports it. This includes cadence, content mix, and community interaction. You will also coordinate with the Influencer & Affiliate Manager to align user-generated content flow and partner content standards.
Lead Magnets and Advertorial Funnels: Write lead magnets and advertorial content that drives conversion, including the gut health quiz, educational resources, founder-led pieces, and advertorial concepts that move people from interest to consideration. The Marketing Director owns funnel structure, customer journey design, and paid distribution, while you own the copy that sits inside those flows from hook to call to action. You will also propose tests, write variations, and refine based on performance.
Day-to-Day Work: In a typical week, you will write across multiple formats, repurpose founder sessions into cross-channel content, maintain the editorial calendar, and coordinate with the Creative team and outside partners. The company expects AI-assisted workflows from the start, and you should be comfortable using AI tools at meaningful scale. You will need to be equally confident building a landing page from scratch and keeping several initiatives moving at once.
Who You Are
- You are an exceptional copywriter with proven range across paid media, email, organic, and long-form content.
- You bring strong creative instincts and regularly generate compelling hooks, angles, and campaign ideas.
- You can both write and operate, meaning you can manage a content system without sacrificing writing quality.
- You have at least 4 years of experience in DTC content, brand, or editorial work, preferably with a science-led or health-related company.
- You understand the supplement, health, or wellness space and know how to avoid generic wellness language.
- You are comfortable using AI tools to support high-volume content production.
- You can work effectively with expert founders, helping shape topics and turn their knowledge into compelling content.
- You are low-ego and focused on outcomes rather than authorship.
- Bonus experience includes journalism, editorial publishing, science communication, expert interviewing, work with medical or scientific founders, and SEO content production.
Who Thrives Here
This role suits someone who cares deeply about quality, not just output. You enjoy creating messaging systems, building brand voice, and developing programs that work reliably. You bring the same care to a major editorial piece as you do to a short caption. You want to contribute to a mission you believe in, alongside founders who are credible, approachable, and committed to getting things right. You also need to be comfortable with transparency and accountability, because this is the kind of role where performance is visible and results matter.
Compensation
The base salary range is $100,000 to $120,000, with bonus potential. The final offer will depend on experience.
Application Note
Applicants should include a portfolio link or 2 to 3 writing samples in their resume or profile so the team can assess writing quality.
