Role Overview
The Construction Supervisor role, based on-site in Saint John, New Brunswick, is a contract position responsible for managing daily construction operations. The supervisor oversees site crews and subcontractors, assigns work, tracks progress, handles issues that might impact schedules or quality, and ensures all activities comply with safety standards and building codes. Regular site inspections and effective communication with project managers, tradespeople, and clients are crucial. Maintaining accurate documentation to support smooth project execution is also required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead construction site teams and manage daily work.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, provide clear updates, and professionally manage site concerns.
- Competence in conducting inspections and enforcing safety protocols in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects, including reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specifications.
- Educational background in construction management, civil engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent hands-on experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with construction management software and maintaining comprehensive site reports and documentation.
- Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while upholding professional standards and company integrity.
