Job description
Overview
HjR Solutions is working with a fast-growing consulting firm that specializes in construction planning and project controls for some of the most complex and visible data center programs across the United States. The immediate focus is a significant data center project in Wisconsin, with more openings in additional U.S. locations as the business expands.
This is a consulting role rather than a contractor-side scheduling position. In this position, you will partner with owners, developers, general contractors, and senior project leaders to help shape decisions, control schedule risk, and improve delivery outcomes. The ideal candidate combines technical scheduling strength with a consulting approach, bringing strategic thinking, clear communication, and the ability to guide stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and communicating detailed project schedules while supporting broader project controls efforts.
- Create and maintain logic-based CPM schedules in Oracle Primavera P6.
- Develop baseline schedules that reflect the project’s execution plan.
- Run schedule updates, forecast completion dates, prepare reports, and analyze the critical path.
- Spot schedule threats, delays, and recovery opportunities before they affect project performance.
- Lead schedule review discussions with project teams, contractors, owners, and client representatives.
- Share schedule status, major risks, and recommended actions with project leadership.
- Contribute to recovery planning, scenario modeling, and mitigation planning.
- Work closely with field teams and project leaders to keep execution aligned.
- Assist with forensic schedule reviews, delay assessments, and Time Impact Analysis (TIA) when required.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle Primavera P6, subject to a detailed technical assessment.
- At least 3 years of experience in construction scheduling, project controls, project engineering, or construction management.
- Solid understanding of vertical construction, including sequencing, means and methods, and job execution.
- Proven ability to build CPM schedules from the ground up and manage them over time.
- Good command of critical path analysis, logic relationships, float, and schedule risk management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in front of project teams and leaders.
- A proactive, solutions-focused consulting mindset.
- Willingness to travel and work onsite full time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in data centers, mission-critical facilities, manufacturing, logistics, industrial work, or large commercial construction.
- Prior experience in consulting, owner’s representation, or other client-facing roles.
- Exposure to fast-track construction programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation will be competitive and aligned with the selected candidate’s experience.
- Revenue-sharing opportunities are available based on project results.
- Insurance coverage and mobile benefits are included.
- Travel costs are reimbursed according to company policy.
- Relocation support may be offered where applicable.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Contribute to high-profile data center programs that support the future of digital infrastructure.
- Work closely with executives, owners, developers, and other key decision-makers.
- Expand your expertise beyond scheduling into project controls, risk management, construction consulting, and strategic advisory work.
Additional Information
This opportunity is intended for professionals who want more than a standard scheduling position. It is well suited to someone who wants to influence outcomes, advise project stakeholders, and grow a career in construction consulting.
