Job description

About the opportunity

This role offers the chance to contribute to one of Australia’s leading data centre operators, working on a major program in Western Sydney. The position combines project leadership, stakeholder coordination, and delivery oversight in a fast-moving environment.

  • Industry leader with a strong pipeline of work
  • Collaborative, fast-paced working environment
  • Leadership position on one of Australia’s largest data centre programs

About CDC

CDC Data Centres, established in 2007, is a leading Australian operator of sovereign, secure, world-class data centre facilities. Based in Canberra and operating across the ACT, NSW, VIC, and New Zealand, the business provides secure data centre configurations for co-location, containerised, and hyperscale compute environments, all connected through high-speed carrier-grade networks. CDC places strong value on diversity, inclusion, and a workplace culture built on trust, care, and innovation.

Role overview

As Construction Manager in NSW, you will help deliver a data centre construction project safely, on time, and within budget. You will be part of a high-performing client-side team based at Eastern Creek Campus and will work closely with the nominated PCBU and subcontractors to ensure internal and external teams coordinate effectively and deliver quality infrastructure and building works.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical information across engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure construction work meets required specifications and standards.
  • Manage construction contracts on CDC’s behalf, including checks for due diligence and compliance for third-party agreements.
  • Provide project updates to the Head of Construction, covering progress, forecasts, budget performance, procurement, and schedule movements.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish, with a focus on value management, safety, structural integrity, and verification of contracted work.
  • Spot opportunities to improve delivery methods, reduce delays, or introduce innovation, and engage consultants when required.
  • Run meetings and keep communication flowing with key stakeholders, including CDC Service Managers and Engineers, through design, delivery, and handover.
  • Develop productive relationships with suppliers and vendors while working with colleagues to strengthen the capability of the broader function.
  • Support team development by mentoring junior staff, contributing to leadership, and helping maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Represent the company professionally in meetings and discussions, and help drive effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

You should bring a track record of managing large and complex building projects, ideally within critical environments such as data centres or hospitals. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve risks early will be important. A solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, construction methods, and safety requirements is needed, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality and safety.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian citizens and able to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.

How to apply

Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter. Applications close at 4:59pm on 29 May 2026.

Culture and inclusion
