Job Overview
The role of Construction Manager involves providing on-site administrative oversight, technical guidance, and leadership to ensure adherence to design standards, contract stipulations, and construction protocols for large-scale government-funded projects. This role supports the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) at the Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret all construction documentation including schedules, specifications, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Engage in design review processes to guarantee construction aligns with design documents.
- Conduct daily inspections of construction sites, record findings using AF Form 1477, and properly archive documentation in project files.
- Review shop drawings and product submissions, providing informed feedback to the Site Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum ten years of construction management and inspection experience, or an associate degree in Construction Management (or related field) coupled with five years of field experience.
- At least two years’ experience collaborating with public or government agencies.
- Demonstrable expertise in supervising construction projects and ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Strong understanding of project planning, design reviews, project management principles, and construction management, with proficiency in interpreting construction plans and drawings.
- Eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance; US citizenship required.
- Excellent teamwork skills within diverse and dynamic groups.
- Robust problem-solving capabilities and sound decision-making.
Working Conditions
