Role overview
This position sits within Internal Firm Services, under IFS - Human Capital (HC), and is part of the Ethics and Business Conduct - Practice Support team in Risk and Compliance services. The role is centered on strengthening compliance, ethics, risk, and control practices through structured testing, review, and improvement activities.
In this role, you will work with a team that brings risk and controls knowledge along with sector-specific experience. The work supports management in evaluating project risks and controls, building stronger compliance programmes, and improving decision-making and operational efficiency.
You will contribute across the compliance and ethics lifecycle, including programme assessments, programme development and transformation, risk evaluation, and regulatory compliance-related work.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain the compliance testing framework, including checklists and methodology for testing activities, and help evolve it to cover new and emerging review areas.
- Take ownership of compliance testing assignments and other related projects, while also guiding managers and teams involved in the work.
- Assess the relevant policies, guidelines, and SOPs for each review area to sharpen testing criteria, spot unaddressed risks, and recommend better controls.
- Check testing worksheets and supporting evidence to confirm they meet re-performance standards and are accurately recorded in the central repository.
- Monitor implementation progress on agreed recommendations and coordinate follow-ups with key stakeholders.
- Close out exceptions by reviewing them with the concerned teams and aligning on the facts, impact, and next steps.
- Offer practical improvements to guidelines and risk processes so exceptions are reduced and workflows are better aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Create management decks and summary presentations for each testing cycle and present the key outcomes to leadership.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and represent the Compliance lead independently in discussions and forums.
- Help drive priority function initiatives such as analytics adoption, reviews of new risk areas, and implementation of new tools for the team.
- Support quality reporting to senior leadership and contribute to related activities such as project coordination, hiring, and training.
- Coach, guide, and develop team members by sharing knowledge, offering supervision, and strengthening a learning-oriented culture.
- Promote a stronger organizational understanding of compliance expectations and help reinforce compliance awareness across the business.
Experience and qualifications
