Role overview
As a Community Moderator, you help maintain the quality and tone of reader discussions in Germany’s largest news community on welt.de. Your work contributes directly to a respectful, constructive environment for conversation within the WELT community. What you will do
- Oversee discussions in Germany’s largest news community on welt.de and help foster a respectful dialogue culture.
- Decide whether reader comments should be published, using community guidelines and the context of current events.
- Represent the editorial team’s values to encourage constructive exchange within the community.
- Respond to user questions and provide clarity on concerns or issues.
- Work closely with the editorial team to ensure consistent community support and moderation.
What we are looking for
- An ideally completed commercial apprenticeship or a comparable qualification.
- Initial experience in community management or customer service as a solid foundation for the role.
- Interest in current news developments and broader social trends.
- The ability to make clear decisions even under time pressure, with a good sense of dialogue culture, respect, and diversity.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with users and the editorial team.
