Job description

About the Role

The Genesis Prize Foundation (GPF) is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Communications and Marketing Associate to enhance our daily social media engagement, support international marketing and public relations efforts, and assist with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tasks. This position is well-suited for a recent college graduate or an early-career professional with up to two years of experience who possesses strong organizational skills, is technologically adept, and is eager to contribute to a significant philanthropic organization.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, with shared supervision from the Director of Programs, you will be the primary manager of the Foundation’s social media calendar and will provide crucial support for its PR and email operations. Your role will also involve contributing to research initiatives, CRM maintenance, and the utilization of internal project management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Execution & Operations: Take the lead in publishing and promoting all social media content across various platforms. Monitor social channels to respond to non-controversial inquiries using pre-approved responses and manage spam or inappropriate comments. Conduct thorough proofreading of content before publication to ensure accuracy and coordinate any necessary corrections with the content developer. Compile performance statistics, follower growth data, and advertising expenditure metrics to aid in regular social media analysis and reporting. Track posts from Genesis Prize laureates, stakeholders, and relevant figures to identify opportunities for timely engagement. Conduct research to assist copywriters and multimedia creators.
  • Email Operations: Set up, test, and distribute external email communications. Develop and maintain email statistics and response trackers to assess engagement levels. Monitor general GPF information email inboxes and route routine inquiries appropriately. Assist in the creation of performance reports, offering recommendations and best practices for enhancing future campaign effectiveness.
  • PR & Website Support: Collect and archive media and social media mentions following significant announcements. Perform specific digital PR duties, such as updating website content and assisting with updates to Wikipedia pages. Serve as the main point of contact for the Genesis Prize photo and video library, organizing assets and fulfilling photo requests for the team. Provide adaptable support for ad-hoc marketing and PR projects as they arise.
  • Project Management & Systems Support: Manage and maintain the Monday.com project management tool to ensure all social media and marketing content pipelines are well-organized. Provide administrative and data maintenance support within the organization's Salesforce CRM software. Maintain social media standard operating procedures (SOPs) and content checklists.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Recent graduates or candidates with up to two years of relevant internship or work experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrate a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data management.
  • Exhibit direct experience with major social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube) and project management software, with a preference for Monday.com.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Account Engagement (formerly Pardot) is highly advantageous.
  • Show comfort and experience utilizing AI tools to enhance daily marketing, CRM, and project management tasks, including brainstorming, drafting content, and basic data analysis.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to managing multiple projects, a strong desire to learn, self-starting capabilities, problem-solving skills, and a flexible, team-oriented attitude.
