Commercial Porter

Job summary

Oasis Custodial Services is seeking a Commercial Porter to carry out everyday cleaning and upkeep across a range of commercial premises. The role focuses on keeping shared spaces in office buildings, retail centres, and similar sites tidy, presentable, and safe for use.

Work location and employment type

This position may be based at various locations. The role is available as full-time or part-time work and is site-based.

Pay

The wage is not fixed and will be discussed during the hiring process.

Key duties

• Keep lobbies, entry points, and other busy common areas clean and well maintained.
• Vacuum, mop, and clean windows so public areas remain in good condition.
• Remove waste and recyclables on schedule and dispose of them appropriately.
• Replenish toilet paper, soap, and other supplies in washrooms and staff break areas.
• Respond quickly to immediate issues such as spills, litter, or other messes in shared spaces.
• Sanitise restrooms and break rooms in line with health and hygiene expectations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in busy business environments.
• Use commercial cleaning equipment correctly and safely.
• Carry out cleaning tasks according to the specific needs of different commercial sites.
• Follow safety procedures, including correct handling of industrial cleaning chemicals.
• Escalate larger repair or safety concerns to management.

What we are looking for

• Prior work as a porter or in commercial cleaning is an advantage.
• Comfortable working on your own and managing priorities in a busy setting.
• Good communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with tenants and clients.
• Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting during the workday.
• Available for occasional evening or weekend shifts if needed.
