Job description
Role overview
This position is centered on billing and commercial support for project work. The role involves interpreting contractual terms, pricing structures, scope definitions, and related project documentation to ensure accurate commercial processing and customer-facing submissions.
Key responsibilities
- Review contract conditions, rate schedules, preambles, and the defined scope of work to ensure a clear understanding of billing and commercial obligations.
- Prepare quotations for extra work requested by the customer’s representative, including requests routed through the Project Manager.
- Draft detailed work statements that reflect the actual completed work for submission to customers.
- Study work specifications to support variation proposals and claims, and negotiate submitted variations directly with customer representatives when needed.
- Collect Work Completion Forms from foremen, engineers, and supervisors, then cross-check the recorded work against the specifications.
- Prepare draft bills, invoices, and credit notes in line with contractual payment terms.
- Travel overseas for work assignments when required by the immediate supervisor or Head of Department.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Section Manager.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Naval Architecture, Civil, Marine and Offshore, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motorship), or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Comfortable handling multiple tasks and working in a fast-moving environment.
Work location and schedule
The role is based at Tuas Boulevard Yard, 80 Tuas South Boulevard, Singapore 637051. Islandwide transport is provided. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 5:15pm, and Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
