Job description

Role overview

This is a full-time, 12-month opportunity based in Auckland, New Zealand, with an immediate start required. The role sits within L’Oréal’s Consumer Products Division, the commercial arm behind well-known brands such as L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline New York, and Garnier. The position focuses on supporting the Foodstuffs Commercial Team as it manages a major partnership within New Zealand’s grocery retail environment.

Team culture

You will join a performance-driven team that values collaboration, trust, and accountability. The group operates with a strong sense of shared ownership, open communication, and psychological safety, where team members are encouraged to speak up, question existing approaches, and learn from both successes and mistakes. Guidance, mentoring, and career development are part of the working environment.

What you will do

  • Take part in the everyday work of a commercial account team supporting the Foodstuffs national account.
  • Use scan data and market insights to understand what is driving results and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to projects that measure promotion returns and improve shelf visibility, with direct impact on commercial performance.
  • Work with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to make sure brand campaigns perform effectively in store.
  • Learn how to build trust with stakeholders, solve issues early, and work within the cooperative structure of New Zealand grocery retail.

What the role expects from you

  • A strong commercial mindset with curiosity and a clear focus on outcomes.
  • Confidence working with Excel and turning data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • The ability to communicate clearly, warmly, and professionally in writing and speaking.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-changing FMCG environment.
  • A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to a team-first culture.

What you can gain

  • Exposure to challenging work that pushes you beyond your comfort zone.
  • Early ownership of meaningful responsibilities rather than observation-only tasks.
  • An inclusive workplace where people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities are welcomed and supported.
  • The opportunity to contribute to brands and initiatives with social and environmental impact.
