Role Overview
The Commercial Director will shape and drive the company’s commercial direction, with responsibility for growth, customer development, and stakeholder partnerships. This role calls for a strategic leader who can combine market insight, financial discipline, and strong relationship management to expand business opportunities and strengthen performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute commercial plans aligned with business objectives to support faster growth.
- Study market trends and opportunities, then turn findings into actionable business expansion plans.
- Identify the needs of current customers and make sure those expectations are consistently addressed.
- Win new business while also managing and strengthening relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Work closely with teams across marketing, sales, customer service, and other functions to coordinate commercial activity.
- Develop and sustain productive partnerships with important stakeholders.
- Track commercial results through key performance indicators and prepare updates for senior leadership.
- Support goal setting, financial planning, and budget monitoring.
Requirements
- Proven background as a Commercial Director or in a similarly relevant senior role.
- Strong knowledge of market research techniques and how to interpret findings.
- Good understanding of performance tracking, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
- Clear commercial judgment combined with a strategic approach to decision-making.
- Strong leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong people skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
