Role overview
Workato is hiring a Commercial Account Executive to support growth across Australia and the wider ANZ market. This is a sales role focused mainly on winning new business, especially as the company expands its presence in the region. The position reports to the VP of Sales and involves working with internal teams and external partners to build pipeline and close strategic commercial opportunities.
Key responsibilities
The role centers on territory planning, new logo acquisition, and multi-stakeholder selling into large commercial organizations.
- Work within a structured sales organization that covers both enterprise and commercial accounts.
- Develop and execute a territory strategy aimed at major commercial businesses in Australia.
- Focus primarily on new business generation during the initial phase of regional expansion.
- Sell both directly and through channel partners.
- Collaborate with SDRs, partner sales, and marketing teams to engage C-level leaders across business units in target accounts.
- Operate from Australia with access to a WeWork All Access space, while maintaining flexibility in how work is carried out to maximize outcomes.
Required experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate brings a strong closing background, enterprise sales exposure, and confidence selling to both technical and business decision-makers.
- At least 3 years of experience in a full-cycle closing sales role.
- Background in managing complex, high-value sales conversations with IT and business leaders, including functions such as Finance and Operations.
- Experience owning and developing relationships within enterprise-level accounts.
- History of consistently achieving or surpassing quota.
- Proven success selling software or technology offerings, preferably in integration, middleware, automation, or enterprise software.
- Ability to sell effectively to both technical stakeholders and executive-level buyers.
- Resourceful approach to building and executing an industry-focused strategy in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting.
- Strong comfort with ambiguity and the realities of a startup-style environment.
- Collaborative, team-oriented sales mindset rather than a lone-wolf approach.
